| A | Admission: Admission takes place in class I and class VI in the start of every academic session. |
| B | Examination: AVS has a system of comprehensive assessment of students at school level as per the guidelines NCERT/CBSE except Class X & Class XII. Examination for Classes X & XII is conducted by CBSE, Delhi. |
| C | Sports & Games: Every child is encouraged and given opportunity to participate in various games/sports. |
| D | Parents-Teacher Association: In order to promote proper understanding and co-operation between parents and teachers for the overall betterment of the students, each Adarsha Vidyalaya has a Parent-Teacher Association. |
| E | School Management Development Committee: Every Adarsha Vidyalaya has a School Management & Development Committee (SMDC) headed by the District Commissioner of the respective districts as its Chairman. Guidelines for the constitution of SMDC are governed by notification: vide no. |
| F | School Development Fund (SDF): Vide Letter No. AVS/SDF/2022/01 dtd: 03/12/2022, guidelines for the School Development Fund in each Adarsha Vidyalaya are notified wherein a nominal amount of Rs. 300 per student per month is generated with an exemption of 20% to students belonging to the poorest and needy family. The Principal of Adarsha Vidyalayas shall be personally responsible for ensuring the actual economic status of applicant students for availing exemption of fees (SDF). |
| G | Academic Calendar: In order to have a harmonious academic growth of the students of the Adarsha Vidyalayas, AVS Assam notifies the Academic Calendar for a session which provides the list of all academic, non-academic activities/events that are to take place in the Vidyalayas. |
| H | Teacher’s Training: To equip the teachers with the latest teaching modules and to enhance their professional development, AVS Assam organizes frequent training programs & workshops for teachers. Induction Training is a mandatory program for all newly recruited Principals/Teachers. |
