Organic Farming and Plastic Waste Management:

To involve students in some practical management and handling approach of solid waste in proper scientific way to create positive images in their minds, Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan has introduced a project named Waste management and organic farming as a pilot project in three Adarsha Vidyalayas of Assam under the guidance of Dr Amarjyoti Kashyap,Environment and Solid waste management Scientist . Dr Kashyap has invented Waste Assimilator (Patent No 431955) for bio-degradable solid waste management and organic farming which has now developed much needed convergence between the solid waste management and organic farming .

Under this project,

• Waste assimilators have been installed
• Lemon saplings have been distributed in schools for plantation
• Awareness and Training programmes on decentralized waste management and organic farming conducted
• Decentralized plastic waste management through plastic craft
